This makes absolutely no sense what so ever. This whole 'sin' tax bullshit is getting out of hand is just creating more problems than it is fixing. I say if they want to pull this shit then put a tax on lighters and matches. Nothing can be proven that these pipes are being purchased for illegal use. Plus raising the price of pipes and bongs isn't going to stop anything or gain the state money. People will just buy them somewhere else. Like the internet where they can get better quality and selection for less. That or just make their own at home. Fuck I'm from Florida and I love it there, but goddamn. This is just sad.
Like the one guy said, these types of laws are so full of moral hypocrisy it's laughable. The State sanctions gambling, alcoholism, and lung diseases, collects tax revenue on it all, but thinks smoking pot should be illegal.
